EP Lab Renovation
Project Quick Facts
Services Provided: Architecture
Size: 1,168 SF
Completion Date: July 2022
This Western Pennsylvania Hospital is renovating existing space to install a new Phillips Azurion C720 Unit to create a new Electrophysiology Lab with TEE and Cardioversion testing. The lab will be considered a Class 3 Imaging Room per the 2018 Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals. To accommodate the new EP Lab, shielded control room and shielded-view window, the project will include demolition of an existing office space. The shielded control room will be physically separated from the EP Lab and the shielded view-window will provide a direct line of site of the patient during imaging activities. Included within the EP Lab, is space for mobile equipment that is not required for every procedure being performed. This space allows non-used equipment to be placed out of the way of the staff when not in use. A hand scrub sink will be provided directly outside of the entrance to the EP Lab.
