Project Quick Facts
Services Provided: Architecture & MEP Engineering
Size: 2,078 SF
Completion Date: November 2019
JPT provided Architectural and Engineering services for this new Linear Accelerator for Radiation Oncology located. The project work area encompasses the existing HDR vault and shielding with construction work in the existing CT-Sim room to accommodate additional shielding. The new design will be for a Varian Halcyon installation.
The scope of work includes removal of the HDR concrete slab; metal stud and gypsum board furred walls; lead shielding at the front wall (control room); routing of new conduit runs for the equipment; reconfigured HVAC system connected to existing infrastructure; new electrical service from existing infrastructure to support the new Varian equipment loads.
The isocenter will be established based on the new equipment layout. The front wall (control room) will be relocated to create a larger room for the new equipment. The control room will accommodate the Varian Halcyon console cabinet and main disconnect panel. The current vault will require additional shielding upgrades based on the physicist report. At a minimum, the exterior wall, new control room wall, adjacent CT-Sim wall and ceiling will require additional shielding.
