This new 1.5 MRI Suite within this Northeastern New Jersey Hospital serves as the second MRI suite in the facility. The design included the installation of a new GE Optima MR450w. Sufficient detail was needed in order to secure NJ DCA and local Newark approvals and permits for this project. Demolition of a dressing room, patient holding area, waiting alcove, nurse station and soiled utility room was needed to incorporate the new suite. The new suite contains the MRI scan room, equipment room and control room. Modifications to the existing infrastructure systems were necessary to accommodate the new MRI suite. Additional floor structural support was necessary for the MRI unit as well.
