JPT’s capabilities have expanded to include laser scanning, in which we are able to 3D scan as-builts, streamline documentation and collaborate with ease.
Reality Capture scanning technologies have made the Healthcare Built Environment more accessible, collaborative and interactive than ever before. A powerful 3D mapping tool can laser scan a space and present an extremely detailed 360-degree virtual model with data points. Essentially, a digital twin of the area is created that was synthesized from immersive 3D images with spatial and measurement data. This digital twin can be viewed, via a URL link, by anyone in any location, provided they have a connection to Wi-Fi.
Practical Uses
- As Built Documentation: Existing conditions can be documented prior to the start of any project. JPT can provide the link between the unknown existing conditions and complete documentation.
- Building Information Modeling: Laser scans can be integrated with our BIM models in Revit. Once integrated, these laser scan BIM files can directly link Point Cloud data which in turn captures dimensional information into Revit files.
- Facility Management and Assets: Facility management and assets can be recognized in these 3D models. Specifically, power components, equipment, pipework, and other assets are documented with laser scans.
Benefits
